SECURITY ACADEMY, EDITION: HUMAN SECURITY & WOMEN, PEACE AND SECURITY

The aim of the project: is to enhance the development and promotion of the concept of human security and build resilience by encouraging the active involvement of women in peace, security and defense discussions and processes at both local and national levels.

Objectives:

O1: Strengthen the solidarity of civil society and women’s professional associations by promoting women’s involvement in peace, security and defense-related dialogues and decision-making processes.

O2: Professional capacity building for the implementation of institutional competencies

Planned activities:

  • Three specialized workshops organized in 3 localities in Moldova (North, South, Centre);
  • A round table accompanied by a joint workshop onConflict prevention, including prevention of hybrid warfare, community reconciliation, and relief and recovery; democratic oversight of the security sector”;
  • Development of a policy brief, analyzing gaps in understanding of the SPF agenda, gender-based stereotypes and misinformation, barriers to progress and recommendations for program participants, highlighting the roles of different actors and partners in advocacy and promotion;
  • Create a strategic communication plan (StratCom) in collaboration with representatives from government institutions and civil society. This plan will include a communication strategy and tailored recommendations for integrating the SPF agenda into national and institutional communication plans;
  • Fall camp on “Addressing human security in security policies”;
  • Outreach activities: journalistic materials presenting the role of women in the local security sector; creation of two thematic infographics.

The project “Security Academy, Edition: Human Security & Women, Peace and Security”, is implemented by the Platform for Security and Defense Initiatives, funded by a grant from the Institute for War and Peace Reporting, with the support of the United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).
