CREATION OF THE WOMEN, PEACE AND SECURITY INITIATIVE GROUP

Background: The Republic of Moldova is implementing the National Program for the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 (NPA 2) for the period 2023-2027. Despite continued efforts, there are gaps in the implementation of the Women, Peace and Security Agenda, which can be addressed through a structured platform involving the government, CSOs and local communities.

Objectives:

  • To create a functional civil society group on Women, Peace and Security to work with government institutions.
  • Development of a sustainable mechanism for role-sharing.
  • Strengthen strategic communication for broader support.

Activities:

  1. Forming a civil society group on Women, Peace and Security.
  2. Organize regular meetings.
  3. Strategic communication activities.

Results:

  • A coordinated civil society group on Women, Peace and Security.
  • Strengthened strategic communication.
  • Effective implementation of the UNSCR National Implementation Program

Beneficiaries: Government institutions and CSOs.
