Launch of the work “Defense. Pocket Dictionary”
Starting on June 6, 2022, NATO CID is implementing, in partnership with the Civil Society Platform for Security and Defense Initiatives, the project Strengthening Resistance to Disinformation in the Field of Security by Civil Society with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in the Republic of Moldova and Lithuanian Development Cooperation.
The purpose of the project is to counter disinformation in the field of security by: developing civil society capacities to counter disinformation in the field of security, increasing the security culture by civil society and providing objective opinions by experts in the field of security, civil society, government institutions, etc.
There is currently increasing awareness that disinformation, myths and fake news are proliferating throughout the world, with potentially harmful consequences for security and public safety, effective communication and even health. Moreover, disinformation and propaganda in the Republic of Moldova have a negative impact on national and human security: they polarize Moldovan society on various issues, undermining democratic processes.
The event will launch the work “Defense. Pocket Dictionary”, developed by the team of authors: Natalia Albu, Gheorghe Oarza, Elena Mârzec, Aurel Fondos, Panța Rodica.
The event will be attended by representatives of the Embassy of Lithuania in the Republic of Moldova, government institutions in the security and defense system, civil society, academia and journalists.
