THE EUROPEAN UNION AND THE STRENGTHENING OF HUMAN SECURITY IN THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA

Purpose: To promote better understanding and engagement in two regions of the Republic of Moldova regarding security issues, crisis response, and European integration by supporting the participation of women and men in local dialogue and providing accessible information about the EU through targeted educational materials.

Objectives:

To promote women’s participation in local discussions on security and crisis response through a public event and a regional roundtable with local leaders.
To strengthen the population’s ability to recognize and counter disinformation and hybrid threats through thematic explainers and visual content.
Informing the population in the target regions about EU support in the areas of security, education, resilience, and local development through tailored explanatory materials and targeted online distribution.
Key Activities:

Development of educational materials covering the following topics: The European Union’s contribution to environmental security in the Republic of Moldova; Economic security—a pillar of the Republic of Moldova’s national resilience; Strengthening the European Union’s security through investments in training programs and scholarships in the fields of technology, health, and business.
1 public dialogue planned to be organized in Cahul.
1 regional roundtable with the participation of local leaders from Ștefan Vodă, Căușeni, Anenii Noi, and other localities.
Digital promotion: Creation and distribution of visual and interactive content for Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
Target groups:
Women in the regions, women’s associations, and the general public.

Project period: April – July 2025

The project is implemented by the Platform for Security and Defense Initiatives, with the support of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Moldova (KAS) Foundation.
